Freeman House to Fishermen's Village
Park in public parking lot behind the Freeman House. Cross Retta Esplanade and head west along the sidewalk.  
Enter Gilchrist Park at the majestic 100 year old banyan tree.  Follow the winding sidewalk through the park along
picturesque Charlotte Harbor.  The sidewalk continues west to
Fishermen's Village a waterfront mall, resort and
marina.  Turn around and return to the Freeman House.

Barron Collier Bridge Walk
Park in public parking lot behind the Freeman House. Walk across Retta Esplanade and head north on the
sidewalk along Barron Collier Bridge. At the north end of the bridge and turn around and return to the Freeman
House.

Comments:  Beautiful view of Charlotte Harbor the entire walk.

Freeman House to the Charlotte County Historical Center
Park in public parking lot behind the Freeman House. Walk across Retta Esplanade and head north on the
sidewalk along the west side of the Barron Collier Bridge. At north end of bridge continue in the grass with the fish
Cove Adventure Golf on your left.  Turn left along the south side of Bayshore Road and pick up sidewalk along
Bayshore Road.  Walk through Bayshore Live Oak Park to
Charlotte County Historical Center and turn around.

Total distance:  4.6 miles

Comments: Beautiful view of Charlotte Harbor the entire run,  The Bayshore Live Oak Park section is beautiful with
sidewalks winding throughout the park.  
Caution:  There is a .1 mile section just north of the bridge where no
sidewalk is available currently.  The sidewalk starts again along the south side of Bayshore Road at the
entrance of
Fish Cove Adventure Golf.

Laishley Park and the Trabue Harborwalk
Park in public parking lot next to Laishley Marina ship store. Walk east along the sidewalk and then north along the
east side of the marina basin.  Near the entrance of the basin you will see a sidewalk heading east along Charlotte
Harbor.  The sidewalk passes Marriage Point and the Metal sculpture entitled "Spirit of Punta Gorda" and then
heads south.  The sidewalk then heads east into the Trabue Harborwalk area.  Continue along this walk nestled in
a mangrove forest until the sidewalk ends across from
Charlotte Regional Medical Center.  Turn around and return
to the ship store.

Lighted at night?: Only in Laishley Park.  The Trabue Harborwalk is not lighted.
Comments: Beautiful view of Charlotte Harbor the entire walk.  Dolphins are occasionally sighted at Marriage Point.

Park in public parking lot behind the Freeman House.  Pick up a free Punta Gorda Harborwalk Guide on the front
porch.  The guide will help you explore the 2.5 miles of publicly accessed waterfront along Charlotte Harbor.

Downtown History Tour
Park in public parking lot behind the Freeman House.  Pick up a free Punta Gorda Downtown History Guide  on the
front porch.  The guide will you direct you through the downtown and highlights thirteen historic buildings and sites.

Park in public parking lot behind the Freeman House.  Pick up a free Punta Gorda Historic Mural Walking Tour
Guide on  the front porch.  The guide will you direct you through the downtown and highlights fourteen murals
presented by the
Punta Gorda Historic Mural Society.

Punta Gorda Nature Park - 1555 Aqui Esta Drive
1 mile nature trail for hiking, jogging, two raised boardwalks for birding and viewing wetland area, educational
signage, one fishing pier, picnic tables, benches and 2 parking lots.

Laishley Park, a
picturesque park with
unobstructed views of
Charlotte Harbor.  
Gilchrist Park to the west,
is equally breathtaking.
